Falkirk, Stirling, Lanarkshire and West Lothian sit between and around Scotland's two biggest cities, which makes them easy middle ground when half your guests come from Glasgow and half from Edinburgh.

Wedding Venues across Scotland
Choosing a wedding venue in Falkirk, Stirling, Lanarkshire and West Lothian
These four areas fill the middle of Scotland's central belt, and for many couples that is the point. Most venues here are within about an hour of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, with castles, country houses and hotels to choose from and none of the city-centre logistics.
Four areas, four characters
Stirling has its castle and the hills at the edge of the Highlands, with Dunblane and Bridge of Allan close by. Falkirk sits between the two cities and is home to the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. Lanarkshire runs down the Clyde valley, with country estates and the World Heritage village of New Lanark. West Lothian has Linlithgow, with its palace and loch, and is close to Edinburgh Airport.
Fair to guests from both cities
If your guest list is split between Glasgow and Edinburgh, a venue in the middle shares the travel fairly, and the M8, M9 and M80 put most of the area within an hour of either city. Check the last trains, and book a coach if the venue is outside a town, because rural taxis are scarce late at night.
Well-known wedding venues in the four areas
The Club does not yet have a member venue here. These are well-known places to marry in Stirling, Falkirk and Lanarkshire. For West Lothian, the castles on the western edge of Edinburgh in our Edinburgh venues guide are close by.

Questions couples ask
Where can we get married halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh?
Falkirk, West Lothian and the north of Lanarkshire all sit between the two cities, and Stirling is within an hour of both. Most venues in these areas are within about an hour of either city by road.
Are there castle wedding venues in central Scotland?
Yes. Stirling Castle hosts weddings after it closes to visitors, Crossbasket Castle in High Blantyre is a restored 15th-century tower house, and Glenskirlie Castle near Banknock is a castle hotel built in 2007.
Can we get married outdoors in central Scotland?
Yes. Scotland allows a legally binding ceremony outdoors anywhere, provided your celebrant or registrar is authorised, your Marriage Schedule is in order and the owner of the spot agrees. Country house and castle venues are the easiest place to do it, because the grounds and the indoor alternative are in the same place.
