1. Introduction & Agreement

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the relationship between Scottish Wedding Club (Company No. SC890877), a company registered in Scotland ("we", "us", "our"), and any wedding professional, business or individual ("Supplier", "you") who applies for or holds a listing on the Scottish Wedding Club directory at scottishweddingclub.com.

These Terms also apply to visitors and engaged couples ("Users") who browse the directory and use the website.

By submitting a listing application, making payment, or using the website, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.

2. Supplier Membership & Contract Term

2.1 Six-Month Minimum Term

All supplier memberships are entered into on a minimum six-month contract. By completing your listing application and making payment, you are entering into a binding six-month agreement with Scottish Wedding Club commencing on the date your listing goes live on the directory.

No refunds will be issued for early cancellation within the six-month term. If you wish to cancel at the end of your term, written notice must be provided to [email protected] at least 30 days before your renewal date.

2.2 Membership Tiers

  • Standard Membership — £1,295 + VAT for six months: directory listing, verified badge, category and region placement, access to member resources.
  • Featured Membership — £1,795 + VAT for six months: all Standard benefits plus priority placement, featured supplier status, enhanced profile visibility and inclusion in Scottish Wedding Club marketing campaigns.

2.3 Renewal

Memberships will automatically renew for a further six-month term unless written cancellation notice is received at least 30 days before the renewal date. Scottish Wedding Club reserves the right to adjust pricing at renewal, with at least 30 days' written notice provided to the Supplier.

3. Supplier Vetting & Approval

3.1 Application & Review

All supplier applications are subject to review and approval by Scottish Wedding Club. Submission of an application and payment does not guarantee acceptance. We reserve the right to decline any application at our sole discretion, in which case any payment received will be refunded in full.

3.2 Vetting Criteria

To be approved and listed, Suppliers must meet the following minimum standards:

  • Be a legitimately trading business or sole trader operating in the Scottish wedding industry
  • Hold valid and appropriate public liability insurance (minimum £1 million cover — see Section 4)
  • Provide accurate, truthful and up-to-date business information
  • Have no outstanding upheld complaints from regulatory bodies or Trading Standards
  • Demonstrate a professional standard of service consistent with the Scottish Wedding Club brand
  • Agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions in full

3.3 Ongoing Compliance

Approval is not permanent. Scottish Wedding Club reserves the right to suspend or remove a listing at any time if a Supplier no longer meets the vetting criteria, receives substantiated complaints, or is found to have provided false or misleading information during the application process. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.

4. Insurance Requirements

4.1 Mandatory Insurance

All listed Suppliers must hold, and maintain throughout their membership term, valid public liability insurance with a minimum indemnity limit of £1,000,000 (one million pounds) per claim. Certain categories may require higher levels of cover or additional policy types (e.g. professional indemnity, employers' liability where applicable).

4.2 Proof of Insurance

Suppliers must provide a valid certificate of insurance upon application and at each renewal. Scottish Wedding Club reserves the right to request updated proof of insurance at any point during the membership term. Failure to provide valid insurance documentation within 7 days of request will result in immediate suspension of the listing.

4.3 Supplier Liability

Scottish Wedding Club acts solely as a directory and marketing platform. We are not a party to any contract between a Supplier and a couple or client. All liability for the provision of wedding services rests entirely with the individual Supplier. Scottish Wedding Club accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, dispute or dissatisfaction arising from services provided by listed Suppliers.

5. Listing Content & Accuracy

Suppliers are responsible for ensuring that all content submitted for their listing — including business name, description, category, region, pricing, images and contact details — is accurate, lawful and not misleading.

  • Content must not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Images submitted must be owned by or licensed to the Supplier
  • Suppliers must notify Scottish Wedding Club promptly of any material changes to their business information
  • Scottish Wedding Club reserves the right to edit, reformat or remove listing content that does not meet our standards or these Terms

By submitting content, you grant Scottish Wedding Club a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and use that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the directory, including use in social media, email marketing and partnership materials (including with STV).

6. Payment Terms

Membership fees are due in full upon acceptance of your application. All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated. VAT will be charged at the prevailing UK rate.

  • Payment must be received before a listing is made live on the directory
  • Invoices are due within 14 days of issue
  • Late payment may result in suspension of the listing until outstanding amounts are settled
  • Scottish Wedding Club reserves the right to charge statutory interest on overdue invoices in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998

7. Supplier Conduct & Standards

Listed Suppliers agree to:

  • Conduct their business professionally and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Respond to enquiries from couples and clients in a timely and professional manner
  • Not engage in any conduct that could bring Scottish Wedding Club or its partners (including STV) into disrepute
  • Not solicit reviews or testimonials in a manner that is misleading or incentivised
  • Not use the Scottish Wedding Club platform to promote services outside their approved listing category without prior written consent
  • Comply with all consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

8. Suspension & Termination

Scottish Wedding Club reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove a Supplier listing, with immediate effect and without refund, in any of the following circumstances:

  • Breach of any provision of these Terms
  • Failure to maintain valid insurance as required under Section 4
  • Provision of false, misleading or fraudulent information
  • Substantiated complaints from couples or clients that indicate a serious failure of service
  • Conduct that is harmful, discriminatory, abusive or unlawful
  • Insolvency, administration or cessation of trading
  • Any action that could damage the reputation of Scottish Wedding Club or its partners

Where possible, Scottish Wedding Club will provide written notice and an opportunity to remedy a breach before taking action. However, in cases of serious or urgent concern, immediate suspension may be applied without prior notice.

9. Website Use & Intellectual Property

All content on the Scottish Wedding Club website — including text, design, logos, graphics, photography and code — is the property of Scottish Wedding Club or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

  • You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit any content from this website without prior written consent
  • The Scottish Wedding Club name, logo and branding may not be used without express written permission
  • Automated scraping, crawling or data extraction from the directory is strictly prohibited

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scottish Wedding Club shall not be liable for:

  • Any loss or damage arising from a Supplier's failure to deliver services to a couple or client
  • Any indirect, consequential or economic loss suffered by a Supplier or User arising from use of the directory
  • Temporary unavailability of the website due to maintenance, technical issues or circumstances beyond our control
  • Any inaccuracies in Supplier-submitted listing content

Our total liability to any Supplier in connection with their membership shall not exceed the total fees paid by that Supplier in the six-month term in which the claim arises. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Complaints & Disputes

If you have a complaint about Scottish Wedding Club's services, please contact us in writing at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 28 days.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through our internal complaints process, both parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation before pursuing legal proceedings.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

Scottish Wedding Club reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Suppliers will be notified of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the directory after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The current version of these Terms is always available at scottishweddingclub.com/terms.
